Course Description
Do what you love. Protect what you love. Together, Project AWARE Foundation, volunteer scuba divers and water enthusiasts are conserving the planet's most fragile underwater environments at every level - local to global.
Here, you'll learn more about actions you can take - fins on or off. Whether you're monitoring underwater environments, getting involved online or taking action in your own home, you're supporting conservation.
How will you protect what you love? Explore opportunities to combat marine debris, rescue coral reefs, protect sharks, ensure sustainable fisheries and more. Measureable results cannot be achieved without you.
CORAL REEFS
Coral protection is urgent as scientists state that 19 percent of the world's reefs are already dead and they predict we may have only eight to 10 years before climate change destroys reefs as we know them. Learn how you can become more involved.
SHARKS
Sharks are in serious trouble. Many of the world's shark populations are in collapse. Some shark species have declined by more than 90 percent in the last two decades. Learn more about Project AWARE's Protect the Shark Campaign.
MARINE DEBRIS
At least 6 million tones of debris enter the world's oceans each year, harming wildlife and underwater environments. But scuba divers are influencing change by using their unique skills to remove underwater debris and gather data to inform conservation.
AWARE DIVERS
As divers and water enthusiasts we are privileged to have access to many underwater environments, but that privilege comes with greater responsibility. Learn about best practices, speciality courses, ecotourism, and preserving our wrecks.
AWARE KIDS
AWARE Kids are the superheroes of the underwater world. They love the water and help protect all creatures great and small. Take a moment to learn about art contests and how your school or organization can get involved in organizaing an event near you.
DO MORE
Dive for Earth Day? Sustainable Fisheries? The Volunteer Network? Mooring Buoys? Whatever you can do we have got the place to get your feet wet.
